Expert: Russia hit most from cryptocurrency threats in Jan–Apr
MOSCOW, Jun 9 (PRIME) -- Russia was the hardest hit among the countries hurt by cybersecurity threats when using the of cryptocurrencies in January–April, antivirus software maker ESET said on Wednesday in a report.
“This year 8.9% of the total number of attacks were registered in the Russian Federation. Thailand and Peru went next with 5.6% and 5.3%, respectively,” ESET said.
The increase in the cryptocurrency threats, started in the second half of 2020, continued in January–April. The experts explained the trend by a rocketing price of the cryptocurrencies, which turned them into an attractive target for criminals.
